This iconic event offers four challenging distances and several categories to challenge and reward riders.
The Peppers Mega Epic; Friday 22 - Sunday 24 August 2008
The Mega Epic now includes an event prologue in Ipwsich on Friday 22 August before the first big day of racing to Toowoomba from Peppers Hidden vale on Saturday 23 August. The Mega Epic riders lead out the Classic field on Sunday 24 August after the gruelling climb up the range.
The Colour Chiefs Mini & Minor Epics; Saturday 23 August 2008
The Mini and Minor Epics are a great way to introduce your children to the joys of off road cycling. Two distances of 7kms and 12kms. Parents can accompany children on the course.
The Flight Centre Cycle Epic 100km Classic; Sunday 24 August 2008
The full marathon is one of the most rewarding challenges you can undertake. Whether you race fellow competitors, the clock or yourself, completing the Epic is a major achievement. Only a small percentage of the population have acheived this feat... burn the couch, sell the television and join the Epic ranks.
The Merida Pursuit; Sunday 24 August 2008
The Merida Half Epic is a challenging and achievable distance of approximately 50km. This category has a relaxed atmosphere and is for everyone from grandparents to regular mountain bikers. This may not be the full marathon but none the less the Merida Half Epic is an achievement to be proud of.
The Healthwise Global Chaser; Sunday 24 August 2008
A new addition for the Sunday schedule is the 20km Healthwise Global Chaser on the Old Hidden Vale property. A chance for friends, family and supporters to ride the property before the riders come in.
The Epic Relay Teams; Sunday 24 August 2008
Grab a mate and contest one of the team relays with two or four riders completing two stages each. There is no 'i' in team so this is a great way for you and a partner mix it up over the full distance.
Paper entries accepted until 20 August.
