Epic Management Crew
We have revamped the 7th Flight Centre Cycle Epic to offer you more options. This is a family event and there are plenty of different activities including the race line up.
A new addition for 2009 will be the bike show that will include an awesome lineup of bikes from Merida, Scott, Titus and many more. Come out and register on Saturday and kick the tyres of your next Epic steed!
This iconic event offers four challenging distances and several categories to challenge and reward riders.
The Peppers Enduro; Saturday 22 August 2009
The Peppers Enduro replaces the Mega Epic and will be conducted on Saturday morning. This is a 75km enduro on the Old Hidden Vale single track. The Peppers Enduro carries a handsome cash purse and points allocation for riders who back up for the full mtb marathon on Sunday. Have a good race result on Saturday and Sunday to pick up a bigger cash bonus.
The Colour Chiefs Mini & Minor Epics; Saturday 22 August 2009
The Mini and Minor Epics are a great way to introduce your children to the joys of off road cycling. Two distances of 7kms and 12kms. Parents can accompany children on the course.
The Merida Global Chaser; Saturday 22 August 2009
The Merida Global Chaser is conducted on the Old Hidden Vale property and provides an opportunity for novice riders to 'have a go' and experience some of the awesome singel track on the property. A chance for friends, family and supporters to ride the property before the riders come in.
The Flight Centre Cycle Epic 100km Classic; Sunday 23 August 2009
The full marathon is one of the most rewarding challenges you can undertake. Whether you race fellow competitors, the clock or yourself, completing the Epic is a major achievement. Only a small percentage of the population have acheived this feat... burn the couch, sell the television and join the Epic ranks.
The Merida Pursuit; Sunday 23 August 2009
The Merida Half Epic is a challenging and achievable distance of approximately 50km. This category has a relaxed atmosphere and is for everyone from grandparents to regular mountain bikers. This may not be the full marathon but none the less the Merida Half Epic is an achievement to be proud of.
The Epic Relay Teams; Sunday 23 August 2009
Grab a mate and contest one of the team relays with two or four riders completing two stages each. There is no 'i' in team so this is a great way for you and a partner mix it up over the full distance.
The Flight Centre Cycle Epic is proudly supported by Queensland Events Regional Development Program
